Just Push Through It (aka Suddenly a Little Sunshine)

For me, if I don't feel totally inspired (or that I'm succeeding in writing), I sometimes can't get myself going.  Today I learned to just push through it. Somehow I easily forget this simple truth. Writing and sucking is, after all, better than not writing at all.

In the beginning the characters are less developed, the world less fleshed out. Everything seems less real. Once you slog through that, the story starts to take shape, new ideas formulate.

Oh, and when one of those ideas hits you, it's dazzling. Some little piece of the puzzle slips into place so beautifully, you can't help but smile. Like a breath of fresh air, a new life begins to take shape.
