Be Positive. You Will Succeed. (And Fail.)

You will succeed.

You may not be the next Rowling. But if you keep trying, you will be a writer.

Now, I'm not one to talk much about "faith" as it seems silly to "hope for the best". But beyond trying to learn to be better and continuing to practice your craft, "faith" (aka having a positive attitude) is all that's left.

It will not all be roses. You will probably not win an award for the best new writer of the year. But a strong desire to write has taken hold of you. You've decided that this is what you want to do with your life.

Then, don't give up.

Be positive and realize that success is guaranteed if you keep trying. You will be a successful writer because you will continue to write. And writing is the goal. Writing is what makes you smile. Writing is what makes you feel like you fit in the world. Writing is what gives you meaning.

But expect to fail. Again and again. Failing means learning (if you take the time to think about it and internalize it.)
